Richard "Rick" Delano Dyrhaug

Richard Delano “Rick” Dyrhaug, age 86 of La Crescent, MN passed away on October 7, 2023, after a long, happy life.  Born October 9, 1936, in St. Paul, MN.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pat; children: Chris, Tom (Michelle), Mike (Kristin) and Amy Gautsch (Chris Luebke); his much-loved grandchildren: Eric, Jackson, Emily Gautsch, Jill and Luke; and his brother Tim.  He was preceded in death by his parents; Martin and Grace, brothers Dennis and Terry; and his daughter in-law, Kristine.

After graduating from St. Paul Central high school, he served two years in the U.S. Army where he spent most of his time in France. Upon his honorable discharge he attended the University of Minnesota followed by a commendable 40-year career with State Farm Insurance. Rick and his family moved to La Crescent, MN in 1980 where he served on the Applefest board of directors, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Rotary Club, The American Legion, La Crosse Area Adjusters Assoc., volunteered at Crucifixion School and served Meals on Wheels.  He was a life-long Catholic and spent the past 43 years as a member of Crucifixion Church.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on October 28th, 2023 at Crucifixion Catholic church in La Crescent, MN at 11:00AM with Rev. John L. Evans, II officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are welcome to Crucifixion Catholic School or the Childrens Miracle Network.
