Richard "Dick" Duffrin

June 25, 1932 — October 3, 2017

Richard C. “Dick” Duffrin, 85, of La Crosse, died on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Lakeview Health Center in West Salem after a year-long illness.

He was born in La Crosse on June 25, 1932, to Norman Duffrin, Sr. and Viola (Euler) Duffrin and remained a lifelong resident of the city. He married Phyllis Sendelbach on December 30, 1972, and they had two sons, Bryan and Aaron.

Dick worked at La Crosse Footwear over 40 years. He also worked at Northern Engraving in Holmen for 19 years before retiring in 2016. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards, camping and rooting for the Brewers and Packers. He was a long-time member of the Cathedral Parish where he served as an usher.

Dick is survived by his wife, Phyllis; and three sons, Donald Duffrin, Bryan Duffrin and Aaron Duffrin; brothers, Gerald (Trudy) Duffrin and Robert (Susan) Duffrin; brother-in-law Roger [Pat] Sendelbach; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Norman Duffrin, Jr. and Jack Duffrin; and sister, Carol Goodman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 11 th , in the Marian Chapel at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Msgr. Charles D. Stoetzel will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will follow at 1:00 p.m., in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minn.

May he rest in peace in the care of his Savior. Memorials are requested to go to the family.
