Randy William Kreger

Randy William Kreger, 62, of Onalaska passed away in his home Saturday, April 7, 2018, following a courageous ten-year battle with multiple myeloma. He was born in Portage, WI, on Aug. 22, 1955, to Earl and Nanette (Weider) Kreger. He was a graduate of Pardeeville High School in 1973. Later he continued his education at Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac with a degree in Supervisory Management. In 1989, he was united in marriage to Ellen (Schulz) Kreger. Randy was employed as a supervisor with the Bindery in Beaver Dam, Watlow in Winona, Metallics in Onalaska, and most recently as a route sales representative for Nestle Foods in the La Crosse area until his retirement due to health concerns.

Randy was especially proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them at the family lake home in Oxford, WI. His perfect day was spent there on his John Deere tractor, watching westerns, and sharing a home-cooked meal with family and friends. He was also an avid Packer fan and was able to enjoy many trips to Lambeau field as well as cheering on his team at home. Randy was a resourceful man who took pride in the hard work he put into his home, yard, and vehicles. He enjoyed many camping excursions to various state parks with family and friends over the years. Randy had an infectious sense of humor, but he wasn't afraid to tell it like it is.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 29 years, Ellen; children, Stacy (Brian) Freber, Beaver Dam, Carly (Eric) Sanft, Forest Lake, MN, and Jesse Kreger, Milwaukee; grandchildren, Anna and Brandon Freber; brother, Jon Kreger; sister-in-law, Martha Kreger; brother-in-law Randy Schulz; mother-in-law, Dorothy Schulz, and many family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Terry, Robin, and Timothy Kreger; and father-in-law, Roy Schulz.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 13, 11:00 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 515 N. Main St., Holmen with Rev. John Parr officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska, and also from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the church.

The family would like to thank the Gundersen Oncology/Hematology Department staff, and especially Dr. Wayne Bottner, as well as the Hospice team for their compassionate care of Randy. Memorials can be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) in Randy’s name.
