Ralph J. Jagodzinski, 79, of Holmen, WI, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born on October 13, 1937 in Milwaukee to Roman and Angeline (Nieznanski) Jagodzinski. He married Pauline Schwei on May 21, 1960 in St. Rita’s Catholic Church, West Allis, WI. Ralph worked as a police officer and detective with the City of West Allis for over 32 years, retiring in 1993. Ralph was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 55 years, the West Allis-West Milwaukee Monogram Club for 20 years, serving as past president, and the Milwaukee Officials Association for 26 years, and served as a past president. He was inducted into the Milwaukee Officials Association Hall of Fame. Ralph officiated football and basketball games at the College and High School level for 25 years, and was chosen to officiate the Wisconsin State basketball tournament in Madison six times. Ralph also volunteered at the Mayo Clinic Hospitality in La Crosse.
Ralph is survived by his wife Pauline, three sons, Gregory of Spring Park, MN, Jeffrey (Lisa) of Atlanta, GA, and Gary (Anita) of Holmen, and seven granddaughters, Caitlin, Leah, Anna, JoAnne, Jessica, Jacqueline, and Jennifer. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Peter Raj will officiate. Private committal services will be held at the Catholic Cemetery.Monday, May 8, 2017
