Rachel Ellen Spindler was born May 7, 1990, in Madison, Wisconsin. She was a kind and gentle soul. She moved to Onalaska, Wisconsin in 1992 and attended the Onalaska School system. Rachel was an intelligent student. She loved to take part in sports and played for the Coulee Region Girls Hockey team and Onalaska Tennis teams, captaining her U-12 hockey team to a state championship. Music was also her passion, having learned to play both piano and guitar from a young age. Attending concerts with her family and friends was a favorite activity throughout her life. Rachel graduated from high school in 2008.
Following high school Rachel pursued a degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science from the School of Nursing. After graduation she worked at Gundersen Health System on the Cardiopulmonary Unit. Rachel was a skillful nurse who provided her patients with exceptional and compassionate care. Her dedication to patients was unwavering, as was her commitment to providing empathic care to all.
In 2014, Rachel moved to Colorado to be one with nature. Rachel loved hiking and camping in the mountains. She loved beauty in nature and traveling on new adventures. Any visit to Colorado by family or friends was treated to a trip to the Rocky Mountains. Rachel worked as a registered nurse at The Medical Center of Aurora, Colorado and advanced her nursing skills to Intensive Care nursing. She bought her first home in Denver and lived there with her Westie, Kyra (her princess) until Rachel’s passing.
Rachel was immensely proud of what she had accomplished in her short lifetime, as is her family.
Rachel is survived by her parents, Fran and Jayne Spindler (Onalaska, WI); her brother, Dr. Derek Spindler (Saline, Michigan); many wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her Westie, Kyra.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Ellen Reuter (Shawano, WI) and Russell and Margaret Spindler (Monona, WI).
Rachel would ask that the world and everyone in it be kind to one another and reach out and help others in need.

An Irish Blessing
May the road rise
to
meet you;
May the wind be always
at your back;
May the sun shine warm
upon your face;
May the rains fall
soft upon your fields;
And until we meet again,
May God hold you
in the hollow of
His hand.
