Philip J. Weissenberger (69) of La Crosse, WI passed away peacefully in his home on October 28, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on March 17, 1955 to Julius “Bud” and Helen (Hammes) Weissenberger.

Phil was a larger-than-life figure that would give you the shirt off his back – though he may have argued what shirt you should take. His heart was as big as his opinions, and he was never shy about sharing them. He had a talent for transforming even the most ordinary topics into a debate, insisting that his way was not just the right way, but the only way, always bringing spirited energy to every discussion.

His personality might have sparked some lively discussions, but it was always paired with an underlying love that united them.

Phil had a fulfilling career as an auto repair business owner/operator. His impact in the auto repair field and the lives he touched was profound.

He traveled around the country with his family, following the NHRA racing circuit and creating countless cherished memories along the way. In heartfelt moments, he was able to race again before passing, a testament to his enduring spirit and love for the sport.
