Pearl B. Hoffman

Pearl B. Hoffman, 84 of La Crescent, MN passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Mayo Clinic Health Services in La Crosse. She was born on March 5, 1940, in Durand, WI to Edward and Henrietta “Pearl” (Kees) Erickson and graduated from Durand High School in 1959.

In 1960 Pearl married Michael J. O’Flaherty, together they had two sons and later divorced. On October 22, 1971, she married Albert “Al” Hoffman, and he preceded her in death on November 2, 2009.

Pearl worked at Presto in Eau Claire, WI in her younger years, then did nanny care, daycare, housekeeping at the La Crescent Healthcare Center, La Crescent Elementary School, home care and other cleaning services. She enjoyed playing cards, flower gardening and her many pets. Her most cherished times were spent with her grandkids and attending their various events.

Pearl's strong faith in God has carried her through life and has always followed Him, as she hopes the same for her family. 

Pearl is survived by two children, Mike (Betsy) O’Flaherty of La Crescent and Amy (Rick) Magnuson of La Crosse; two stepchildren, Sue (Mike) Mrozek and Mary (Mark) Papenfuss; grandchildren, Jeffrey Harlos, Erik Hoffman, Christina (Matt) Putnam, Skylar O’Flaherty, Emily Bernett, Elyse (Ben White) O’Flaherty, Keith O’Flaherty, Zack, Alex and Levi Magnuson, along with her special Maltese, Daisy. In addition to her husband Al, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Edward O’Flaherty, a stepdaughter, JoAnn Harlos; three sisters, Marjorie Wald, Joyce Larrabee and Debbie Lillard and by many of her beloved and cherished pets.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a message from Pastor Cliff and a time to share memories at 12:00 p.m.
