Pearl E. Diekrager, 100, of Houston, MN, was called to her Heavenly Home on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Valley View Healthcare in Houston.
Pearl was born on August 27, 1922, to Herman and Estella (Farnholz) Klaviter in Witoka, MN. On April 12, 1941, she married Roland “Bob” Diekrager at her home in Witoka. Bob preceded her in death July 26, 2002.
Pearl was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Nodine where she served on the Ladies Aid board and sang in the church choir. She was a housewife and farmed with her husband on a farm near Nodine until 1972. She then worked at Camera Art in Lewiston, MN, for ten years.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane (Jim) Beckman of Houston; two granddaughters, Karrie (Bill) Schuldt of Nodine and Karla of Houston; two great grandsons, Riley and Reed Schuldt of Nodine. In addition to her husband, Bob, Pearl was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sally, and a brother, Marvin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15 th , at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Nodine. Pastor James Mumm will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 111 So. Oak St., La Crescent, and from noon until the time of service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, School or Cemetery.
Pearl’s family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff of Valley View Healthcare and St. Croix Hospice for their loving care.
