Pauline M. Johnson

February 2, 1935 — August 7, 2022

Pauline Johnson passed from this life to eternal life in heaven on Sunday August 7, 2022, at Eagle River, WI.

Pauline was born on February 2, 1935, to Leslie and Wauneta Snyder; one of seven children.  In 1954, she married Donald Johnson and God blessed them with over 67 years of marriage.  She was further blessed with two children, Rick and Debbie.  Pauline and Don lived for most of their lives together in Winona, MN where Pauline ran a licensed child-care center from her home and later worked for the College of St. Theresa.    Later in life they moved to Holmen, WI and then for a short time lived also in Eagle River, WI.

Her family and friends where important to her and she graced them in many ways.  Her grandkids fondly remember the boxes of Christmas cookies she baked and then mailed to them.   In her earlier years she loved dancing and traveling to her favorite places like Branson, MO, and the Florida gulf coast and well as visiting her children and grandchildren.  She was an active member of Lutheran churches in Winona, Holmen, WI and Eagle River, WI.

Her family gives special thanks to those who treated mom and dad with such kindness.  Among them we especially thank Ed and Neta Dutton, Chad and Tammy Dutton and Dean and Denise Johnson.  We also thank Pastor Kufahl from Our Savior Lutheran Church in Eagle River for bringing mom and dad that comfort of God’s Word and Holy Communion, even when they no longer were able to make the trip to church.

Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; her sister, Shirley Arnold; her brothers Les (Bud) Snyder and Richard (Dick) Snyder and her brothers-in-law, Earl Bork, Elmer Arnold and Darrel Johnson.    She is survived by her children Debbie Huntington (Al) and Rick Johnson (Kay) and grandchildren Dan Johnson, Mike Johnson, Carin Schmiel, Tim Johnson, David Johnson, and Allison Schlader; and by her grandchildren's spouses and great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Bork and Wauneta Dutton (Ed), and her brother, Arnie Snyder (Rose), as well as sister-in-law, Carol Snyder; and other family and friends.

A Christian funeral will take place at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 19 th , at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services in Onalaska, WI with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at the Trempealeau Public Cemetery.  A luncheon will be provided at the funeral home following burial.
