Patricia L. Shea

Patricia “Patsy” L. Shea, 94, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 26, 2020.  She was born in Plainview, Minn., on September 15, 1926, to Arnold and Irene (Schouweiler) Schneider.

Patsy married the love of her life, Arnold Shea, on August 31, 1948.  They settled in La Crescent where they built their first home and raised four children.  She took great pride and joy in being a wife, mother, and homemaker.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, gardening, and volunteering in the community.  In 1960, Pat and Arnie built Shamrock Lanes in La Crescent, owning and successfully operating the business for 10 years.  After selling the business, Pat worked in food services for the La Crescent school system.

Family was always important to Pat.  She took great care to make family gatherings meaningful and special.  She will always be remembered as being very social, gracious, and genuinely caring.  Her enthusiasm and zest for life endeared her to family and friends.

Patricia is survived by her children, Sam (Kathy) Shea, Barb Harlos, Sheri (John) Conway, and Todd (Meghean) Shea; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Irene Buckingham; and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; her parents; two brothers, Art and Francis; three sisters, Dorothy, Delores and Mary; and a son-in-law, John Harlos.

A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2 ^nd , at the Church of the Crucifixion.  Rev. John L. Evans, II, will officiate.  A private burial will follow the Mass.  Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crescent is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be submitted at www.schumacher-kish.com .

Patsy was able to stay in her home that she loved so dearly with the help of family and several other caring, compassionate caregivers who are greatly appreciated.
