Patricia J. Malone of Onalaska passed away on April 9th, 2024, after an 18-month battle with Glioblastoma Stage IV.
She was born in Rockford, Illinois on November 17th, 1945, to Veronica “Bette” (Fillner) Malone and Russell Malone.
Pat graduated from Aquinas High School, then attended UWL and Nicollet College in Eau Claire majoring in accounting. She married Paul Granger in 1968, later divorcing.
Pat started her working career at Trane Company in accounting, then she worked in the Financial Aid Department of UWL, the state of Wisconsin office in La Crosse, and in the Payroll/Accounting office at Bethany Riverside and Bethany St. Joesph Nursing Home until her retirement.
Pat enjoyed traveling to Colorado at least once every other year to visit her sister and brother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and collecting antiques. She loved trips to the casino and buying scratch offs in hopes of a big win.
Pat had a passion for Scottish Terriers raising 4, McTavish, Loch, Ness, and Duffy.
Pat is survived by her sisters, Kathy Malone of Westminster, CO; Lisa (Al) Wiebke of La Crescent, MN; and her brother Jim Gerske of Onalaska, who spent every day with her over the last 18-months making sure she had everything she needed. She is further survived by her niece Stephanie Beecroft of Arvada, CO; an aunt and uncle, Doris and Jim Melcher; 5 great nieces and nephews, many great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother Bette; father, Gunter Gerske; brother Michael Malone; nephew William “Billy” Olson; aunts and uncles, Henry and Pat Fillner, Janice and Don Ferguson, Beatrice and Francis De Florian.
Private service for family will be held.
