Patricia Anne Krause

Patricia A. Krause, 86, of Onalaska, WI, died at home on Saturday, November 4, 2023. She was born on May 10, 1937, in Prairie Du Chien, WI to William and Bernice (Foss) Barney. She Graduated from Logan High School in 1955. Following high school, she worked several different jobs including dental assistant and grocery clerk. On February 2, 1957, Patricia married her sweetheart, Keith. Together they raised two children, Tammy and Kevin. The majority of her career was spent working at Leath and King Furniture in sales and design. Patricia’s 23 years of retirement began in 2000. In retirement Patricia enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially by cruise ship and coach bus. Known to her five great-grandchildren as “Grandma HoHo,” she enjoyed playing Mrs. Clause beside her husband who played Santa Clause, passing out gifts at various community events. Her greatest enjoyment came from her time spent with family and friends. She deeply enjoyed her weekly video chats with son Kevin and wife Cathie who reside in Mexico and looked forward to Saturday morning bargain hunting with her daughter Tammy. Patricia had a love for reading, especially crime and suspense novels, and had amassed a house, and then an apartment full of books. She relished watching her two grandsons grow into fathers themselves, and then spent many hours driving across Wisconsin and into Minnesota to visit any number of her great-grandchildren. Some of her final days were spent playing board games, making jewelry and visiting with all of her grandchildren.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, William and Bernice, siblings William “Jr.” Barney, Lola Hollie, Nancy Hollenbeck, Sandy Beranek, and Robert Barney. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Tammy (Jeff), her son Kevin (Cathie), her grandson Josh (Lindsey), her grandson Jesse (Jennie) and her five great-grandchildren Corinne, Bostin, Eva, Maddie, and Nora. Patricia is also survived by her siblings Keith Barney, Judy Gilbertson, and Elaine Howe.

Memorial services will be held at 11am on Monday, November 13th at Halfway Creek Lutheran Church in Holmen, WI. Pastor Chris Sesvold will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on the family at the church on Monday morning from 10am until the time of services.
