Pamela D. Miller

April 1, 1956 — January 9, 2025

Pamela “Pam” Dawn (Stilwell) Miller, age 68, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Bethany Riverside in La Crosse, WI following an ongoing illness. She was born on April 1, 1956, to Gerald “Dude” and Donna (Mageland) Stilwell, as the oldest of five children in Viroqua, WI. Her family resided in Viroqua and Viola, WI, where she attended area schools, graduating from Kickapoo High School in 1974. Pam worked multiple jobs over her career, most notably Mr. G’s Corner Store in Viroqua, WI, Northern Engraving, Bethany Riverside, St. Michael’s Assisted Living, Western Technical College, leading up to her retirement from Trane Co. in 2024.

Pam married John (Terry) Miller on July 16, 1987. They resided together on the Northside of La Crosse where they raised their two children: Benjamin and Donna. Pam had a service-oriented personality as an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church, assisting in many facets of the ministry: accounting, assisting with Sunday School, visiting homebound congregation members; Pam also was an election inspector for many years.

Pam enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be camping or working in the family garden, growing and canning vegetables to help feed her family. She also loved to attend the sporting and fine arts activities of her children, nieces/nephews, among other family and friends. Pam was also known to wrangle her “Home Fries” and attend concerts of her favorite vocal group: Home Free. When she was not attending a sporting event, concert, play/musical, or other activity of a loved one, Pam enjoyed being immersed in a good book snuggled up with her favorite four-legged friend, Toby.

Pam is survived by her husband Terry and their children: Benjamin (Lauren) Miller of Fond du Lac, WI and Donna (Miller) Nelson of Rochester, MN; and 3 grandchildren: Carlene, Milo, and Juliet Miller. Pam is also survived by her brother Jerry Stilwell of Viola, WI; and sisters Patricia (Daniel) Gray of Viola, WI, and Paula Medinger of Wausau, WI; 9 nieces and nephews: Jerri (Rodney) Prem, Matthew (Kaitlyn) Gray, Jordan Stilwell, Shaun Miller, Nicholas (Jill) Stilwell, Shannon Miller, Kaitlyn (Jordan) Hauter, Melanie (Anthony) Baca, Peter Medinger, and Morgan (Joshua) Stout; 21 great nieces and nephews; and one canine “bum,” Toby.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Gerald and Donna Stilwell; and brother, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Stilwell.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Bethany Riverside and Gundersen Health for the wonderful care they gave her.

A private family gathering will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the following: Bethel Lutheran Church of La Crosse, Good Fight Community Center of La Crosse, or Kickapoo Area School District Alumni Association of Viola, WI.
