Norma Jean Johnson

Norma Jean Johnson, 81, of La Crescent, MN passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Springbrook Village in La Crescent. She was born on April 20, 1942 in La Crosse, WI to George and Margaret (Steger) Kistler. She married Lawrence Johnson on November 6, 1961. He preceded in death on July 6, 2006.

She is survived by her children Annette (Kevin) Gittens, Lee (Tanya) Johnson and David (Kari) Johnson, grandchildren Jimmy (Jill) Gleason, Amanda (Dom) Miller, Taylor (Scott) Caven, Jordan (Jen) Gittens, Eric (Jennifer) Johnson, Kelsey Johnson, Kendra (Lucas) Beneke, Kaitlyn (Reese Brambrink) Johnson, Taylor (Jacob) Goldstein, Blair (Brody Jessesski) Greenwold, Chase (Ebony) Johnson, Colt (Josephine Wagner) Johnson and Chance (Avery Gronquist) Johnson, ten great grandchildren, sisters Threse Nagel, Judy (Andy) Ready, brothers Robert (Jackie) Kistler and Michael (Kay) Kistler and a sister-in-law Diane Kistler. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Duane Kistler and a grandson Cody Johnson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Crucifixion Catholic Church, 423 S. 2nd St., La Crescent. Fr. John L. Evans, II will officiate. Burial will be held  in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN, at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of service.
