Nancy Jean Muller, 76, of Onalaska, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at the Onalaska Care Center.
Nancy was born in La Crosse on August 17, 1943, to Harold W. and Ione M. (Tischer) Hefti. She attended La Crosse schools and was a 1961 graduate of Logan High School. On April 27, 1963, Nancy married Raymond F. Muller at St. James the Less Catholic Church in La Crosse. Ray preceded her in death on February 13, 2012.
Nancy worked as a library paraprofessional for the Onalaska School District. She was a long-time member of St. Patrick’s Parish in Onalaska.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey of La Crosse and Michael (Nicole) of Yucaipa, Cal.; two granddaughters, Christina and Marlena Muller of Yucaipa, Cal.; a brother, Gary (Mary Jo) Hefti of Eau Claire, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Betty Muller of Ripon, Wis.; her step-mother, Geraldine Hefti of La Crosse; step-brothers, John (Sharon) Kiesling of La Crosse, Thomas (Roxanne) Kiesling of La Crosse, Jeffrey (Pamela) Kiesling of West Salem, and Timothy Kiesling of La Crosse; step-sisters, Susan (Harry) Brecht of Orangeburg, S. Car., and Nancy (James) Eggen of Onalaska; step-sisters-in-law, Beverly Kiesling of Onalaska and Cindy Kiesling or Rudolph, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She is further survived by special friends, Mary Powers, Hilary Dwyer, Mindy Nelson, Rosa Weber, and Joel Hobson.
In addition to her husband, Ray, Nancy was also preceded in death by her parents, Harold “Smokey” and Ione Hefti; her paternal and maternal grandparents; step-brothers, Michael Kiesling and LeRoy Kiesling; special friend, Sandy Nelson; and numerous extended family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 8 th , at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska. Msgr. Steven Kachel will officiate. Burial will follow in Onalaska City Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, please remember to wear a mask and observe social distancing recommendations if you plan on attending any of the Saturday services. In addition, there will be no luncheon.
