Myron Paul Zessin, 87, of rural LaCrescent, Minnesota, passed away at his home on September 3, 2022, following a brief illness with ALS. He was born April 20, 1935, in Nodine, Minnesota, to Paul and Evelyn (Breyer) Zessin and was a lifelong resident in the LaCrescent area.
His life was filled with a busy work schedule that included farming, Trane Company, Ready Bus Company, owner of Crescent Electronics, MSI Insurance agent, and remodeling of rental properties. Following retirement, he drove for Apex Airport Express Company.
Myron enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing poker. He had an inventive mind and could fix anything.
He was a member of the LaCrescent Lion’s Club and charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in LaCrescent.
Myron is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley (Steele); his daughters Debra (Tom) Pollard of La Crosse, Wisconsin, and Tamara Benson of LaCrescent, Minnesota; his grandsons Ryan McCauley, Jesse Benson (fiancé Abby), Tyler Benson, Trevor McCauley, Alexander Pollard, and Joseph Pollard; great-grandson Michael McCauley; and sister Carol (Dick) Jacobs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Evelyn (Breyer) Zessin, and son, Trent Zessin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crescent chapel, 111 South Oak Street, with Pastor Mike Woods officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. A private family burial will follow the service at Saint John’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Nodine.
