Myron Karl Anderson, 93, of Brooklet, GA passed away, Wednesday December 13, 2023. Myron was a loving husband, father and a proud grandfather and great grandfather. Myron was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin and grew up in Caledonia and La Crescent, Minnesota as the third eldest of eleven children. Myron told many a tall tale of his travels west and working on the railroad in the late 40’s. He joined the United States Navy in 1950 and served in the Pacific aboard the USS Yarnell as a machinist’s mate. After an honorable discharge he returned to La Crosse in 1953 and worked for Trane Company. Myron married his wife Florence in 1955 and raised two daughters. Myron worked as a truck driver delivering farm equipment all over the U.S. and Canada. The family moved to Ankeny, Iowa in 1976 and both Myron and his wife operated A & D Trucking. Myron began working for auctioneer Steve Greenfield in the mid 1980’s. He loved working an auction, wheeling and dealing, until retiring in 2015 at 85. In 2022, Myron and Florence moved to Georgia to live with their daughter. Myron was happiest telling stories, playing cards and playing Santa for his great-nieces and nephews. He enjoyed bowling, dining out, western movies and watching the Vikings play football. He and Florence were members of a bowling league for many years. He is a proud member of the American Legion, Post 595, in La Crescent. Myron enjoyed going to bingo at the American Legion in Georgia. Myron is survived by his wife, Florence, daughter Kendra Holloway and her husband James; daughter Karen Seibert and her husband Gregg of Edmond Oklahoma; granddaughters Mallory Seibert (Trevor Mays) and Lauren (Joshua) Rumsey and great grandson Calvin Rumsey; his sisters Nancy Swenson and Shirley Kramer; and his sisters-in-law Mary Ann and Kathy, as well as many nieces and nephews. Myron was preceded in death by his father, Helmar, his mother Alvilda, sisters Mary, Jeanne, and Carole and brothers Helmar Jr., Donald, Harold (“Buddy”), Kenneth and John.
