Mya Virginia Brody, was born on August 14, 2019 at the Children's Hospital in Madison, WI weighing only 4 pounds, 2 ounces; 16 inches long. She had beautiful blue eyes and very long gorgeous eyelashes. Unfortunately, she was born with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome along with restrictive growth. Mya may have been small but she was a fighter from the first minute she was born. She fought through multiple surgeries and procedures, and surpassed doctors’ expectations. After struggling with inoperable Congenital heart disease, she passed gently into the arms of Jesus, at home, surrounded by family and friends, on April 23, 2021.
During her short visit on earth, she enjoyed listening to music, shaking her rattles, kicking her piano with her feet, going on walks in her stroller and cuddling with her mom, sister and Nana. She was loved by all who met her or followed her story and will be greatly missed by many. A special thank you to the American Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House, in Madison, WI and Gunderson Medical Center, in La Crosse, WI for all their exceptional medical expertise and support over the past 20 months.
A gathering for family and friends will be held Thursday, April 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Schumacher Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave. South, La Crosse, WI, followed with a prayer service at 4:00 PM. . Burial will be in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 10:00 am.
