Muriel Vivian Doll

Murial Vivian Doll, age 97, of La Crosse passed away Saturday, November 19, 2023. Muriel was born June 24, 1926 on the family farm in Monroe County, to parents William and Helen (Schaller) Gasper. Muriel was a 1944 graduate of Cashton High School and went on to U.S. Cadet Nurse training at St. Francis School of Nursing. She achieved her R.N. Degree in 1947.

Muriel married Vernon J. Doll on April 20, 1949 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Middle Ridge. Vernon preceded her in death on January 18, 2006. During their 56 years of marriage, they raised 5 children.

Muriel is survived by her much beloved family consisting of children Virginia (Charles) Weiner, Jerry (fiancé Diane Botcher) Doll, Marian (Dennis Schultz) Doll, and Steve (Jill) Doll. Her grandchildren Miranda (Corey) Leis, Lanette (Tan) Nguyen, Sara (Luke) Schwarz, Kasey (Brian) Schroeder, Frank (Kelly) Doll, Steven (Samantha) Doll, Skyler Schultz, Stefany (Adam) Lorang, and Christine Doll. Her great grandchildren Brianna, Grace, Katherine, Micah, Malcolm, Demetri, Helena, Camryn, Shelby, Kaylee, Weston, Luella, Leo, George, Margaret, Oliver, Theodore, and Rose.

Muriel is also survived by her siblings Thomas (Doris) Gasper, Daniel (Suzie) Gasper, Steve (Sharon) Gasper, and Barbara (Dennis) Mlsna. Vernon’s brother Willie (Cheri) Doll, sister Marie Doll Griffith, sister-in-law Lozetta Doll, and many nieces and nephews.

Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vernon, daughter Vernadine, daughter-in-law Linda, great grandchildren Sebastian and Jonathon, siblings and their spouses William (Kathleen) Gasper, Dennis (Delores) Gasper, Carl (Mona) Gasper, Marie (Albert) Doll, Marjorie (Robert) Schmitt, Helen (Virgil) Heying, sister-in-law Maria Rosario Gasper, four nephews, and two nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Msgr. Richard Gilles will officiate. Burial will be in the St. James Catholic Cemetery, Rising Sun, WI. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
