Michael P. Tyler
Michael passed away on January 31, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Mike was born on September 17, 1960, in La Crosse, WI to Gene and Betty Tyler. He was the third of four children, growing up on French Island.
Mike was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
He had a great love for the outdoors, spending many years hunting with his dad and brothers, and always loved being on the water.
Mike had many hobbies. He was a collector of all and everything, always finding a bargain. He was known far and wide for his knowledge and collections of vintage bicycles and restoration.
Mike had a love of travel and adventure, visiting many places throughout the country. One of his favorite trips was on the Veterans honor flight with his dad Gene in 2017. Mike’s most prized possession was his gift of song writing and participating in open mic sessions around the La Crosse area.
He was a very family-oriented man, treasuring his time with his close knit immediate and extended family, and especially enjoying time with his daughter Nicole and grandson Nolan.
Mike is survived by his mother Betty Tyler, daughter Nicole (Adam) Dahlstrom, grandson Nolan, brother Kevin (Debbie) Tyler, sister Lisa (John) Ebner, nephews Jacob, Ron, and Joey, nieces Mikayla and Sarah, significant other Judy, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Gene, brother Nick, son Andy, nephew Joseph, and grandparents Les and Violet Tyler, and John and Evelyn Livingston.
Mike will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of family, and his generosity to others. He will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be from 10:30am until the time of the service at 11:30am on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Avenue S., La Crosse. Burial will follow at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park with military honors.
