Michael James Butterfield

Michael James Butterfield, 75, of La Crosse, passed away on December 30, 2023 in his home. He was born on July 15, 1948 to James and Lois (Hampton) Butterfield. Mike served proudly in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and had a 25-year career at Gateway Foods.

Mike was married for 52 years to the love of his life, Bridget Hass, and they had two wonderful sons, Kevin and Ryan (Jessica), and four grandchildren, Zach, Alex, Colin, and Arianna. Mike is also survived by his wife Bridget, a sister Joanne Hanson, sisters-in-law Sue Gerke and Karen Hass, and a brother-in-law Tim Hass. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Greg Butterfield, a nephew Andy, three sisters-in-law Nina Butterfield, Brenda Hass, and Sherri Schroeder.

Mike loved to read historical war novels and watch Jeopardy, which he was amazing at. Mike was a loving and caring husband, dad, and grandpa. Everyone who knew him loved him.
