Mary Ann Zeimentz

Mary Ann Zeimentz, 81, of La Crosse, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, at Riverside Transitional Care in La Crosse.

Mary was born Romance, Wis., on September 17, 1939, to Martin and Hulda (Peterson) Myhre.  She married Ken Swartz on January 13, 1960, in La Crosse and he preceded her in death.  Mary then married James Zeimentz on December 26, 1987, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Crosse.

For many years, Mary worked as a CNA, spending most of her career at Hillview Health Care Center.  Her greatest joy, was her family.  She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored.

Mary is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Deb Sletten of Cottage Grove, Minn., Tim (Kelly) Swartz of La Crosse, Becky (Randy) Kennedy of Trempealeau, and Lisa McPartland of Queens, NY; Jim’s children, Joe (Heidi) Zeimentz of Cross Plains, Wis., Dan (Wendy) Zeimentz of Randolph, Wis., Patti Zeimentz of Glendale, Wis., and Mary Zeimentz of Onalaska; nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her first husband, Ken Swartz, Mary was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Grace Wistenberg; an infant brother; a grandson, James Michael Kennedy.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 25 ^th , at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Rev. Robert Wassermann will officiate.  Burial will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park.  Guests in attendance are asked to wear a mask or other facial covering and to be mindful of social distancing guidelines.
