Mary B. Wieman

September 4, 1943 — January 30, 2022

Mary B. Wieman, 78, of La Crosse, WI passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 in her home. She was born on September 4, 1943 in La Crosse to Frank, Sr. and Irene (Seracki) Hoesley. On April 15, 1961 she married Richard Wieman. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage. In her younger years Mary worked as a cook & waitress at Irene’s Café in La Crosse, along with her mother. When her children were older she was employed at Doerflinger’s in the millinary department. She then worked at K-Mart for 35 years before retiring. Mary was a member of Blessed Sacrament Women’s Club, the Moose Lodge and was a Boy Scout den mother.

Mary was always up for an adventure and loved to travel. She went parasailing in Mexico, rode in a gondola in the Alps in Germany and on her 70 th birthday went zip lining in Wisconsin Dells. When in Atlanta with Rich and Brian she rode in a Nascar race car. She enjoyed camping, boating in the “Mary B” with family and friends and fishing with Rich in his boat “Putter”. Mary was passionate about listening to a variety of styles of music, such as Elvis and Country. Her special nights were Thursday’s when she would go to the park and listen to Moon Tunes. When in Laughlin, NV she would attend karaoke, listening to her Laughlin friends sing.

Mary enjoyed playing games such as Farkel, 6-5-4 and Euchre with family and friends until the wee hours of the morning. She loved baking and cooking for others and was famous for her Christmas Cookie cut out decorating parties and Fried Rice family gatherings. Mary’s favorite football team was the Green Bay Packers. During the games she would text Judy and together they would pray/urge the Pack to win. She also enjoyed going to the Duck Tape Lodge to watch the game with her friend, Rita.  Mary’s motto was LIVE-LAUGH-LOVE. She always thought of others before thinking of herself and never asked for anything. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. We will miss her greatly!

Mary is survived her children Wanda (Tom) Blenka, Brad (Beth) Wieman and Brent (Katie) Wieman, ten grandchildren Justin, Zach, Cassie, Nick, Annie, Austin, Max, Ellie, Megan and Joshua, two great grandchildren Lilly and Brie , brothers Don, Harry (Carol), Frank (Tanya) Hoesley, sisters-in-law Mary Ellen Wieman and Judy Pepple along with a special friend Dave Gregerson.
