Mary A Schaller, 88, of French Island, WI passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024 at home in West Salem, WI. Mary was born to Henry and Eva (Fairbanks) Kenyon on March 21, 1936. She married Norman Schaller, Sr on April 2, 1951. Together they had three children and enjoyed 61 beautiful years of marriage.
Mary graduated with an associate’s degree in Accounting from WWTC, dedicating many years of service to Buck's IGA and later Larry's IGA on French Island. She enjoyed her family the most; along with playing cards, travel and vacationing with her husband at many golf resorts around the state. She was an active member of several organizations within the community, volunteered for elections, and held strong Catholic faith throughout her adult life.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Sr; parents Henry and Eva, her son Norman (Butch) Jr, her son-in-law Richard (Rich), and several other close family members.
She is survived by her daughter Penny (Rich) Hohmann, son David (Kathy) Schaller, special friend Judy Hall, grandchildren Amy Hohmann, Christy (Andy) Patton, David Schaller, Jr and Angela Hohmann, and five beloved great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. James the Less Catholic Church. Rev. James Weighner will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse on Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the time of services.
