Mary E. Germann, 87, of Onalaska, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 1, 2021.
Mary was born in La Crosse, on August 7, 1933, to Joseph Albert Frank Halaska and Anna Evelyn Kerrigan. She was baptized at St. James Catholic Church, attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Aquinas High School.
Mary and Delos Virgil Germann were married on October 23, 1951, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Crosse. They enjoyed 59 years together before “Lossy” passed away in 2011.
Mary and Delos had two sons, Terry (Patti) Germann and Daniel (Linda) Germann; and eight grandchildren, Thomas (Casey) Germann, Sara (Brandon) Savor, David (Marcie) Germann, Lisa (Jon) Rau, Michael (Kayla) Germann, Kimberly (Billy) Staszak, Dana Sebesta and Emily (Todd) Ragan. Mary was blessed with twenty-three great grandchildren, Tyler, Connor and Timothy Savor, Lilliana and Isabella Germann, Liberty and Gunner Rau, Sophia, Noah, Karter and Lennon Germann, Hunter, Logan, Parker and Olivia Staszak, Daniella, Mason, Ayden and Wyatt Sebesta, and Alexis, Ryker, Ellouise and McCoy Ragan. Mary is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Neuman, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delos; brothers, Bernard, Joseph and Charles Halaska; sister, Rita Belue; and great grandchildren, Isabelle and Bryce Staszak and Harper Germann.
Mary enjoyed gardening, bowling, and spending time with her loving family. One of her fondest memories was celebrating Christmas at home with all of her family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11 th , at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1201 Main St., Onalaska, with visitation beginning at noon. Pastor Dan Olson will officiate. Burial will follow in Onalaska City Cemetery.
