Mary Ann Danielson

La Crescent, MN. Mary Ann (Ganschow) Danielson succumbed to cancer on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at her home surrounded by family. Mary was born on September 26, 1939 to Raymond and Ann (Noel) Ganschow.  She spent her early years in Fountain City and Genoa before her family moved to La Crosse, where she  graduated from La Crosse Central High School. Mary met Richard Danielson on a fateful night at the Avalon Ballroom, leading to their marriage on March 19, 1960.

Mary was a highly skilled seamstress, an avid gardener, and enjoyed fishing outings with family.  But what she loved most of all were her children and grandchildren.  She happily and generously cared for all five of her grandkids over the years, going for walks, visiting parks, shopping at dollar stores, sewing costumes, crafting, and gardening together.  She instilled an appreciation for the simpler things in life in all of us.

Mary is survived by her husband, Dick, sons Eric (Robin), Michael, and Paul (Sarah), grandchildren Devon, Madeline, Alexander, Samuel, and Gabrielle, and her sister, Sandra (Albert) Kirchoff.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later time. We would like to thank the hospice team from Gundersen for their care and support in Mary’s final weeks.
