Martin L. Baldwin

Martin L. Baldwin, 70 of Onalaska, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. He was born November 7, 1953, in Sheridan, Michigan and graduated from Montcalm High School in Sheridan. Prior to moving to La Crosse in 1976, Martin had studied airplane mechanics.

In 1979 he married Mary Schaub in La Crosse. He had worked at Ray Hutson Chevrolet for a time before becoming a machinist at Trane Company for many years before his retirement.

Martin enjoyed golfing, building things, especially snow sculptures in his front yard and putting together model airplanes, ships and cars. In his younger years he enjoyed car racing and corvettes.

In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by three children; Cindy (Robert) Duffy of La Crosse, Carrie (Ronald) Wintrone of Onalaska and Christopher (Susan) Baldwin of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren, Nick, Makenna and Aaron Duffy; Zachary, Kailey, Riley and Lexy Marx, Justin (Monica) Wintrone, Emily, Leah and Jacob Wintrone, Isaac Lundquist, Colleen Athey and James Baldwin; a great-grandson, Benji Marx; two great-granddaughters, Winnie Winslow Athey and Eliza Wintrone; a brother, Jack (Deborah) Baldwin of Sheridan, MI; his mother-in-law, Margaret Schaub of La Crosse, along with brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda Withington, Susan Milde, Lori Schaub, Sandy (Tom) Finn, Bob (Patti) Schaub, Bill (Jane) Schaub, Peter (Ellen) Schaub and Maryann Schaub. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Brian Marx; father-in-law, Isidore Schaub and a brother-in-law, Dan Schaub.
