Marlene R. Schelbe

Marlene Rose Schelbe, 82, of La Crosse passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, after a 9-month battle with cancer. She was born to Theron and Cecilia Knutson on July 17, 1941. She was a graduate of Aquinas High School and worked at the Family and Childrens Center until her retirement.

Marlene is survived by her sons, Tim (Lisa) Flock and Chris (Cristin) Schelbe; nine grandchildren, Kendra (Mike) Severson, Lindsay (Ben) Haller, Michael Flock, Alexis Schelbe, Connor Schelbe, Madisen Schelbe, and Kolton Schelbe; two great grandsons, Greyson Severson and Hunter Severson; three sisters; one brother; and two brothers-in-law.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard “Dick” Schelbe; son, Randy Flock; one sister; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

In honoring Marlene’s request, a private family service will be held at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse and entombment will be held at the Catholic Cemetery in La Crosse.

Marlene’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Gundersen Hospice Team that helped Marlene and her family with all of the care and support so Marlene could pass peacefully in the comfort of her home.
