Marlene Serena Kneifl

Marlene “Molly” S. Kneifl, 82 of West Salem, WI passed away peacefully at her home on Friday July 5th, 2024.  Marlene was born on January 21, 1942 in La Crosse, WI., to Adolph and Eleanore Kneifl, she grew up on St Joseph Ridge, while working at the La Cosse Garment company and Jack Winters for many years.   When her mother passed, she returned home to the farm to help raise the four younger siblings.  After retirement she enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas with family.  Marlene was an avid sewer altering most of the nieces’ wedding dresses and sewing a few flower girl dresses.  And lord knows how many zippers she replaced and patched knees she has done!  Marlene ‘s strong Catholic faith found her walking to weekday and Sunday masses, even on the coldest of days.  If there was a card game around you could find Marlene playing for hours.  Just last week she enjoyed games of Canasta with her cousins.  And she was always ready for a game of UNO with the younger kids.  Marlene enjoyed going out for monthly lunches with friends.  She also enjoyed going to the nieces and nephews sporting and school events.

Marlene is survived by her Sisters Sharon Stark, Rockland.  Mary (Lonie) Greeno, Sparta, Brothers Nick (Paula) Kneifl, St Joseph Ridge and Harvey Kneifl Stillwater, MN Sister in laws Verna Kneifl, La Crescent, MN and Sue Kneifl, West Salem.

Marlene is proceeded in death by her Parents, her siblings and their spouses, Melvin and Judy Kneifl, Ronald and Carol Kneifl, Cletus Kneifl, Eldoris and Donald Perso, and Thomas Kneifl, sister-in-law, Julie Kneifl, and brother-in-law, Larry Stark”.

A funeral service will be held on Monday July 15th, 2024 at St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish. Rosary prayers will be held at 9:40a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. with the service starting at 11:00a.m. Following the service, a luncheon will be provided at church until 1:00p.m. After lunch, all are welcome to St. Joseph’s Ridge Cemetery for the burial.
