Marlene J. Engelhart

Marlene J. (Kastenschmidt) Engelhart of La Crosse, 85, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday February 18 ^th at Bethany Riverside nursing home in La Crosse. She was born to Roselyn Kastenschmidt in La Crosse on March 23, 1932. Marlene attended Central High School, graduating in 1949. On June 16, 1951, she married Warren “Bud” Engelhart. After raising their 3 sons, they divorced but remained in contact.

Marlene was a lifetime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a volunteer at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare receiving recognition for over 1000 hours of service and also volunteered in the Nutrition Program there. Marlene had a witty sense of humor. She took great joy spending time with her grandsons. Marlene loved cats and was a longtime member of the U.S. Humane Society. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling to many destinations throughout the country with her mom.

Marlene is survived by her 3 sons, Scott (Lori) of Holmen, Jay (Barb) and Todd (Melissa) of La Crosse, and 2 grandsons, Wyatt and Jessie. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, mother and grandparents.
