Marion Catherine Mahoney Cottrell

Marion Catherine Mahoney Cottrell died on January 9, 2018, Marion was born in Saint Paul, MN on November 2, 1933. Marion earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Saint Catherine, Saint Paul, MN in 1955 and completed a Nutrition (internship at the old Ancker Hospital (St, Paul Ramsey Medical Center) also in Saint Paul. Marion spent her grade school years, following her father's career in the United States Army, returning to Minnesota to complete high school and college.
Marion 's passion was to develop nutrition programs designed to educate patents and assist them in adjusting their eating habits to achieve and maintain their long-term health goals. She completed her 35-year career in 1996.
She married Richard L Cottrell in Saint Paul, MN in 1957. Richard preceded her in death in 2003 Marion's parents Harold J and Elsie M Bronkala Mahoney also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Haslwanter, Crystal Lake, IL, Ruth Cottrell, Oshkosh WI and Sara Prem. Overland Park, KS and two grandsons, Matthew Prem and Daniel Prem. She is further survived by two siblings, Geraldine Matthews, Madison WI and Thomas Mahoney, California.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Marian Chapel of the Cathedral of St Joseph the Workman. La Crosse WI at a later date, followed by Internment in the St Francis Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, WI. Memorials may be directed to Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel, Catholic Cemetery.
