Marilyn A. Marx, age 91, of Barre Mills, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. She was born on October 10, 1931, the daughter of Roy and Marie (Wuensch) Servais. She grew up on St. Joseph’s Ridge. On November 15, 1949, she married Eugene Marx.
Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family – gardening, reading, fishing, traveling, playing dominoes, and crafting. Besides her family keeping her busy, she tended bar at Road Side and at Stelloh’s both in Barre Mills, she worked at Jack Winters, and also at The Trane Company for 15 years.
Marilyn is survived by her 3 children; Kelly (Cindy) Marx, Karen (Darrel) Strangstalien, and Sandy (Dave) Schaper; her 6 grandchildren, Sara Marx, Chris Strangstalien, Jenny (Josh) Erdmann, Nick (Dreama) Strangstalien, Stacy (Rich) Bossingham, and Erin (Scott) Arms; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; her siblings, Donald (Marie) Servais, Patricia Stuber, Dennis Servais, and sister-in-law, Theresa Servais; and her longtime friend, Norman Sprain.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; brother, Jerry Servais and his wife, Loretta, brother, Gary Servais; sister-in-law, Nancy Servais; and grandson, Brian Marx.
We would like to say “thank you” to the hospice team that took care of our mother, Marilyn; we appreciated all that you did.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at St. Teresa of Kolkata Catholic Church, 210 W Hamlin St, West Salem, WI 54669. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the church. Msgr. Jeffrey Burrill will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Joseph’s Ridge Catholic Cemetery.
