Marian R. Schnell

Marian R. Schnell, 94, of La Crosse, WI passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Mayo Clinic Health System.

She was born on June 10, 1926 in Chippewa Falls, WI to Mathew and Alice (O'Neil) Ritter. Marian worked at Hillview Healthcare Center for 38 years, and was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, first husband Herman Holtze, second husband Richard (Dick) Schnell whom she married March 31, 1972, son David Holtze, and grandson Richard Charles Schnell.

She is survived by her son Dick (Cathy) Schnell; daughter-in-law, Lynn Holtze; grandchildren David (Becca) Holtze; Dean (Teresa) Holtze; Terri Holtze; and Michael (Corissa) Schnell; great-grandchildren Kyle, Vincent, Madden, and Medora; and great-great-granddaughter Ellie. Additionally, she is survived by friend of over 50 years, Lois Wakeen.

Private services will be held with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made in her name to the Carroll Heights Nutrition Program, or to a charity of your choice.
