Marian (Hegenbarth) Mooney of La Crosse, WI passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at the home of her daughter in Genoa WI where she was staying temporarily while recovering from a broken hip. Marian was born on May 24, 1934, in La Crosse, WI to Bernard and Anna (Hoffman) Hegenbarth. She graduated from Aquinas High School in 1952. She worked at Microcard, Trane and Wisconsin State College. She married the one true love of her life, Lloyd "Babe" Mooney of La Crosse, on December 26, 1959, at Blessed Sacrament Church in La Crosse, WI. Together they raised three children Scott (Julie) Mooney of La Crosse, WI, Karla (William) Pedretti of Genoa, WI and Steven (Debra) Mooney of Onalaska, WI. She has nine grandchildren, Jason Mooney of Minneapolis, MN, Daniel (Alexis) Mooney of Sparta, WI, Brian (Michelle) Sampson of La Crosse, WI, Alexa (Troy) Berg of Mazomanie, WI, William (Kirstin) Pedretti of Lakeway, TX, Ryan Pedretti of Denver, CO, Jacob Mooney of La Crosse, WI, Joshua Mooney of Onalaska, WI, and Michael Mooney of Onalaska, WI. Marian has seven great-grandchildren: Weston, Ella, Jaxon, Leo, Woods, Norah and Wilder.
She is also survived by two sisters Ellen (Lynn) Ceason and Frances (Terry Ritter) Hegenbarth. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, her parents Bernard and Anna, her siblings, Norbert Hegenbarth, Gregory Hegenbarth, Bernita Bluske, and Clarice Miller and in-laws Marilyn Hegenbarth, Sue Hegenbarth, Chester Miller, Sylvester and Delores Mooney, Richard and Margaret Mooney, Robert and Evelyn Mooney, Donald and Gladys Mooney, and Keith and Harriet Mooney.
Marian loved to camp and play games especially cards and spending time with family. In her earlier years she also enjoyed roller skating, square dancing, and was an avid bowler and golfer.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 4-7pm at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse, WI where a rosary will be recited at 7pm. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Catholic Cemetery. In memory of her late husband Lloyd, Marian requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
