Marian A. Kenyon

Marian Ann Kenyon, 93, of La Crosse, WI passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Riverside Transitional Care. She was born October 31,1930 in La Crosse to Reuben and Florence ‘Irene’ (Kimpton) Olson. Marian graduated from Logan High School in 1948. On December 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to Ronald L. Kenyon in Mabel, Minnesota.

Mom was a wonderful cook, baker and gardener. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, puzzles and embroidering beautiful pillowcases and dresser scarves for her loved ones. She cherished spending time with family and friends. We were blessed to have such a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother in our lives. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Arlan (Cherie) Kenyon, Maureen (Robert) Wilson, Terry Kenyon, Kenneth (Jeannette) Kenyon, Brian (Robin) Kenyon, Colleen (Guy) Gjefle, and Rochelle (Gerard) Cox and daughter-in-law Nancy Kenyon.

Survivors also include 13 grandchildren: Natalie (Tony) Keller, Stacy Mahlum, Michelle (Nate) Griffin, Erica (Ryan) Manz, Angelique and Joshua Kenyon, David and Danielle Kenyon, Jessica and Kyle Gjefle, Lindsey, Mackenzie and Brianna Cox and 12 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister, Genevieve Haakenstad, a special friend, Sandy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald and sons Gregg and Howard Kenyon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse. Rev. Martin Yeager will officiate. Burial will follow in Leon Cemetery in Sparta, WI.

Lunch will be served following the committal service at Schmidty’s Bar & Restaurant, 3119 State Road, La Crosse.
