Mae Irene (Krocherer) Hautamaki (94) passed away peacefully on April 11th, 2024, in Holmen, WI at Bluffview Memory Care. She was born on December 25th, 1929 in Thorp, WI and later married William Hautamaki. They owned and farmed 40 acres and were blessed with a family of their own. William and Mae were happily married for 38 years—until his death in March of 1987.
Mae is survived by her beloved daughters Marlene (Anthony) Kramer and Carlene Fibeger, and her grandson William Hautamaki.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband William John Hautamaki; her parents; one daughter—Karen Sue Hautamaki; as well as her many brothers and sisters.
She is remembered by her daughters for her strict but loving parenting, her kind heart, and her willingness to always help others as she was able. She loved polka music, watching Lawrence Welk, her cats, and, of course, Jesus.
Services for Mae will be held at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home in La Crosse, WI on Wednesday April 17th. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. with service starting at 11:00a.m. Following the service, Burial will be held at Riverside cemetery in Withee, WI.
The official pallbearers will be George Clemmerson, Kael Clemmerson, Butch Luce, Matthew Schmidt, and Kalen Seib. Pastor Jen Clemmerson of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship will officiate.
