Lucille "Lucy" D. Davis

Lucille “Lucy” Dorothy Davis, 85 of La Crosse, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Hillview Health Care Center on Thursday June 28, 2018. She spent the previous day surrounded by her family, friends, past co-workers and her caregivers.

She was born July 31, 1932 in Holcombe, Wis., to George and Ida Schatz. She married Curt Davis on July 23, 1949 in Pine City, MN. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1997.

They moved to La Crosse and called it home in 1953. Our mom stayed home and raised their six kids. Following the death of their son Lonny, mom began working at Hillview and retired as a CNA after 33 years.

Lucy enjoyed her job, fishing in Chetek, camping and gardening but most of all, the Green Bay Packers. Her family meant the world to her. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Terri (Bob) Speer, Becky (Mike) Grosskopf, Lori (Steve) Stellick, Luanne Ambuehl and friend Tom Singer, Rod (Mary) Davis all of La Crosse, six grandchildren; Jeff, Sara, Casey, Jamie, Chelsea and Courtney and twelve great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Rolly (Joyce) Schatz of Central Point, OR., several nieces, nephews and many friends especially Karen, Bev and Jane.

In addition to her loving husband and best friend Curt, Lucy was preceded in death by her son Lonny, an infant grandson, a very special grandson Tommy, two sisters and one brother.

We would like to express a very special thank you to the staff at Hillview Health Care. Your love and care for our mom will always be remembered.

All of our love goes to our mom who is finally with her Curt, Lonny and Tommy.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crosse chapel; 200 West Ave. South. Pastor Paul Mundinger will officiate. Private family burial in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park will be at a later date. Friends may call on the family Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
