Louis Krajewski

October 18, 1919 — January 31, 2018

Louis, 98 years old, died battling influenza at his home on January 31, 2018 in the presence of his wife and three children.

Louis was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on October 18, 1919 to Valentine and Clara (Bishop) Krajewski where he remained a life-long resident. He graduated from Aquinas High School and thereafter served during WWII at Kingscliffe air base in southern England, where he met his future bride, Olivia, while on a furlough to Northern Ireland. After the war concluded, he wrote to and eventually sent for his Irish sweetheart in 1947, marrying her at St. James Church in La Crosse in 1948. They remained married for over 70 years.

His focus throughout their years together was to provide for the needs of his wife and their children; to this end, he had great success. He worked as a salesman for Armour Meats throughout his career and was well-known selling to grocery stores throughout the tri-state area. He was a recipient of the Dale Carnegie award for excellence in salesmanship.

During the early years of their marriage, Louis sponsored two of Olivia's younger Irish sisters to come and live with them in the United States, whereupon they eventually met their American husbands. They later sponsored her older sister's daughter and her husband, who were also naturalized. Condolences regarding Louis' death are being received from relatives in California, Oregon, Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Norway, Scotland and Northern Ireland, demonstrating the far-reaching effects of his benevolence, selflessness and sponsorship.

Louis is survived by his wife, Olivia, and their three sons, David (Kathy), Gregory (Debra), and Brian, along with grandsons Sean and Ian (Justyce). Louis was predeceased by his daughter, Maureen (1973), and his siblings, Sylvester, Jenny, Lorraine, Valerie, Robert, Lucian, Valentine Jr., and Virginia.
