Lorraine Mae Heyer

Lorraine Mae Heyer, age 94, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at her home in the care of her loving family.   Lorraine was born on October 1, 1923 and baptized at her parent’s home in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. On October 21, 1950 she was united in marriage to Harvey Heyer at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Nodine, Minnesota. They were married 51 years until Harvey’s passing on November 24, 2001.   She was a life-long member of St. John’s.

Lorraine is survived by children; Harley (Esther) Heyer, Barbara (Robert) Larson, Sharon (Daniel) Larson, Dean (Tracy) Heyer, Doreen (Ronald) Blank; grandchildren; Joshua (Chalaine) Heyer, Nathaniel Heyer, Simeon Heyer, Ruth (Jonno) Ament, Hannah Heyer, Philip Heyer, Micah (Alice) Heyer, Isaiah Heyer, Grace (John) Ideker, Ezra Heyer, Timothy Heyer, Bethany Heyer, Jason Larson, Brenda (Richard) Byington, Drew Larson, Stephanie (Brandon) Leitzke, Deanna (Peter Zimmer) Larson, Colette Larson, Christina Heyer, Seth Heyer, Aaron Heyer, Henry (Caitlin) Heyer, Melissa Heyer, Jennifer Blank, Jocelyn Blank, Jillian (Owen) Speltz; great-grandchildren; Kyle, Kayla, and Kameron Parker, Malachi, Jacinta, and Eli Ament, Sophia Heyer, Simona Ideker, Story, Sage, and Greyson Byington, Mosley Larson, Nora Leitzke; brother Lester (Sandra) Unnasch, sister LaVonne Moldenhauer; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Harvey; parents Frank and Ruby (Radtke) Unnasch; great-grandsons Ian and Connor Leitzke; and brother-in-law Arthur Moldenhauer.

Lorraine loved to sing in church and choir and still remembered hymns and Christmas carols even as other memories faded. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Nodine, MN. Pastor Dennis Harbach will officiate. Burial will be in the Hiler Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crescent, 111 So. Oak Street on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
