Lois was born on February 16, 1939, to Harold and Bertha (Reimer) Lee in Masonville, IA.
She died on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from Frontotemporal Dementia.
Lois graduated from Dundee High School, Dundee, IA in 1956. She was very proud to be a member of the defense on the girls basketball team that was a 6-on-6 game at that time. She was extremely happy to get to play offense in her last game and scored 6 points in the last minute.
She married Thomas J. Murray on March 17, 1959, in Hopkinton, IA. They later divorced.
They had three children: Marcia Murray, Tom Murray (Sara Running) and Monica Carroll (Kevin) and two grandchildren: Shaun Murray and Erica Murray.
Lois worked as a telephone operator in Manchester, IA where she met her future husband. They moved to Tallahassee, FL and she did in-home daycare. The family then moved to La Crosse, WI in 1970. Lois worked as a grocery store cashier before starting her career as a bank teller for several local banks including US Bank, Coulee Bank and Citizens State Bank.
Lois loved socializing at her lunches with the ladies in "The Lois Club" and her monthly dinners with her "Survivors Group" friends. She loved planning her class reunions and getting together with her classmates from Dundee High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband/friend Tom and by her brother Bill Lee.
There will not be a visitation or funeral. A private family burial has been held. The family would like to thank the staff at Hope Stay Memory Care in Holmen, WI for all their love and support.
