Lois E. Lokken of La Crosse, WI passed away on August 14, 2024 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. We mourn the passing of a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend but we rejoice that she is now forever with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lois was born on March 1, 1937 in La Crosse, WI to William & Erma (Luedke) Schoenfeld. Lois married the love of her life, Donald J. Lokken, on December 31, 1955. He passed away in March of 2002. Lois would always joke that the reason her marriage to Don lasted 47 years, was because she worked days and he worked nights. Lois never lost that sense of humor.
Lois worked for the St Francis Nursing Home in La Crosse, WI as a Nurses Aid. She retired from St Francis after 25 years.
She is survived by her three children: Daniel Lokken, David (Diana) Lokken and Lynda (Eric) Vaughn; one brother, George (Beth) Schoenfeld. Sister-in-laws: Nat (Don) Schoenfeld and Shirley (Gene) Schoenfeld. Grandchildren: David Lokken Jr, Andrea (Kristian) Kirschbaum, Eric M. Vaughn, Amanda Lokken and Danielle (Brandon) Burke along with 6 great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Don Lokken, her parents William and Erma Schoenfeld, her brothers Don and Gene Schoenfeld and sister Wilma (Harry) Viner.
Lois was well loved, not only by her family and friends, but also by the many people whose lives she touched throughout her life.
To God be the glory for allowing her to be a part of our lives.
