Lois R. Juen, age 90 of La Crosse, went home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. She was born February 16, 1934 to the late Clarence and Ethel Albrecht.
Lois had a passion for people, which led her to thrive in her work as a waitress and bartender at many local restaurants, especially at the Casino Bar where she worked for 26 years. She had an adventurous spirit and a passion for traveling. She traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states, and went on three memorable cruises with her husband. Don. Her journeys included three trips to Hawaii, as well as many bus trips to California, Florida, Las Vegas, and Niagara Falls, among other destinations.
A devoted follower of our Lord Jesus Christ, Lois' faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in La Crosse, where she never missed a service. She loved music, especially country, which always brought her joy and comfort. Lois had a passion for shopping, often spending hours just looking around. She also loved bowling, enjoying both the game and the camaraderie it brought. Lois and Don even won a bowling tournament together.
Above all, Lois was dedicated to her family, which brought her the utmost joy. She will be remembered for her warm smile, friendly demeanor, and the genuine connections she made with everyone she served.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Don Juen; her children: Deb Smutny, Patty Valentine, David (Theresa) Luedtke, Jayne (Curt) Niebuhr, and Kimberly (Scott) Puchalski; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her son Robert F. Luedtke; infant daughter Diana Luedtke; brother Fred Albrecht; and son-in-law Charles Smutny.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4141 Mormon Coulee Road, La Crosse. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Nodine, MN.
