Lois M. Hayek

Lois M. Hayek, 90, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center. Lois was born February 16th, 1929 in Caledonia, MN to Ervin and Mary (Stemper) Krueger. She married John Hayek on December 4th, 1976 at their home in La Crosse, WI.

She is survived by her husband John Hayek and her son Mike Polodna along with her siblings Ardy Krueger, Rita Noel, Gerri Schroeder, all from Caledonia, MN and her Sister-in-law, Vivian Polodna; Step-sons Stanley (Mary) and Harold Hayek (Carol) and granddaughters Jacquelyn and Sarah Hayek

Lois is proceeded in death by her parents, Ervin and Mary (Stemper) Krueger, first husband Charlie Polodna, her brothers Bill, Don, and Ben, and her sisters Marilyn Lawson, Ruth Horihan, and Arleen Schuldt

Lois was a foster mother to many babies for over 25 years. She also provided child care for countless other children. She was a very loving and caring person to anyone she ever met.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 which will be officiated by Her nephew Father Robert “Bob” Horihan.
The family would like to thank the staffs at Mayo Health System La Crosse and Bethany St. Joseph Care Center for their care and all who supported and provided comfort throughout Lois’s journey.
Finally, we want to thank all of our family and friends for their prayers and support over the years. They have meant more to us then you know.
