Lois Arlene (Erickson) Bashaw was called to her Heavenly Father on Friday, March 8 th , 2024. Lois was born on July 31st, 1936, to Rudolph and Florence (Mades) Erickson. She was delivered by her grandmother, Lydia Mades, in her childhood home, in La Crescent, MN. She grew up on her family’s farm and later married John Walsky, who passed away unexpectedly in an industrial accident in 1955. Lois married John William Bashaw on December 1st, 1956, and went on to raise their family of 9 children in rural La Crescent. She found joy in taking care of her family and always ensured they had everything they needed. In her free time, Lois could be found going to the dollar store, doing embroidery, baking, cooking, and going out to eat. She loved to go bumming! Her clever wit and humor were always welcomed and adored. Lois loved going to chicken shows with John, and her love for people led to making friends everywhere she went. Lois was a dedicated homemaker, worked in bakeries, and retired as a greeter at Walmart. Lois will be remembered by her loved ones as a hard worker, loving mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. We would like to thank Green Lea Manor for the excellent, loving care they gave for Lois.
Lois is survived by her husband, John, her nine children - Karen (Michael) Schadow, Debra (Allen) Ruege, Steve (Rosemary) Bashaw, Diane (Doug) Newman, Patricia (Roger) Remlinger, Michel (Susan) Bashaw, Mark (Ann) Bashaw, Daniel (Jannie) Bashaw, Lori (Ron) Mann, 31 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, her 3 kitties, Molly, Snoopy, and Tinkiebell, and her dog, To-To, in addition to friends and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Florence, Harold and Leona Bashaw, her granddaughter, Kristin Newman, and her sister, Jean Flannigan.
