Linus John Kujak (79) born July 26th, 1944, to Ray & Irene Kujak in Arcadia, WI passed away on April 4th, 2024.
Linus married Colleen Dascher on August 26th, 1967, with whom he had his 2 children, Barry and Heather with. He worked for the department of transportation in La Crosse for 30 years and oversaw many projects. Beyond that, Linus held multiple offices and enjoyed volunteering.
He served in the Air force for 4 years and then for 17 years in the Army National Guard. During his time, he became a mechanic of bird dog airplanes in Vietnam and was at a refueling station in the Azores. He would fly at treetop level to locate enemies (while being fired upon) and then call-in fighter pilots. He was able to form many friendships there that felt like family.
Linus is survived by his wife Colleen (Dascher) Kujak, his children Barry Tully (Jena) and Heather Coon (Dave), as well as his grandchildren Cash, Mallory, and Sophia.
A service will be held at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of Onalaska on Wednesday May 1st at 10:00a.m. Visiting hours will be an hour before the service at 9:00a.m. Following the service, burial will take place at the Onalaska Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Onalaska Legion Post 336.
