Lillian F. Bolton, 101, of La Crosse, died on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Bethany-Riverside Care Center. She was born on December 26, 1915 in Council Bluffs, IA to Wladislaw “Ladis” and Lillian (Schugardt) Kinder. Lillian had worked in payroll at Swanson Blue Star in Council Bluffs. She moved to California and began working as a bookkeeper for the William Thompson Vitamin Company, located in the old Walt Disney studios. Lillian told Elsa that if she wanted a raise she had to be brave and go ask the boss, and she got the raise, as small as it was. Lillian then went to work as a bookkeeper at the Disneyland theme Park. She moved back to Council Bluffs and worked in bookkeeping at Creighton University Health Center, where she worked for 13 years until retiring in 1980. Lillian loved to knit and watch the Green Bay Packers. She was a very guarded, independent woman who took a lot of joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by a son Russell (Diane) Bolton of Stoddard, WI, two grandchildren, Erik Bolton and Christine (Jason) Vernier, and three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Elizabeth and Jacob Vernier. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ladis and Lillian Kinder, four brothers, Grant, Victor, Frederick and Edgar, and one sister Alice.
