Leslie R. Zibrowski

Leslie R. Zibrowski, 90 of Onalaska, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. He was born January 4, 1933, in Houston County, Minnesota to Arthur and Edna (Rusert) Zibrowski. Les proudly served his country in the United States Army from September 1953 until his honorable discharge in September of 1955.

Les married Janet Trehus on August 10, 1956, in La Crosse and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2017. Les had worked for the La Crosse Trane Company as a welder for 34 ½ years until his retirement in 1995. After 6 months of retirement, Les felt the need to go back to work and so worked part time at McDonald’s in Holmen for the next 17 years.

Les is survived by five children; Debra Sanders of St. Charles, MO, Dennis (Cheryl) Zibrowski of Brownsburg, IN, Dawn (Tim) Mysliwiec of La Crosse, David (Yvonne) Zibrowski of Sparta and Douglas (Beth) Zibrowski of La Crosse; twelve grandchildren, Kate (Phil) Kraft and Christine Sanders, Jaimie (Matthew) Cairns, Amanda Zibrowski, Marie (Greg) Conklin, Matthew (Andrea) Mysliwiec, Amy Zibrowski, Sarah (Brennan) Looman and Heather (Jimmy) Rinehart, Phil (Emily Callinicos) Zibrowski, Jon (fiancé, Katie Carlson) Zibrowski and Meghan (Nate Kruisselbrink) Zibrowski; six great-grandchildren, Gabriel Zibrowski, Madeleine and Henry Cairns, Vivian Kraft, Paisley Zibrowski and Luke Looman; a sister, Delores Yanzer of Holmen, WI; two brothers, Leland (Carol) Zibrowski of La Crescent, Richard (Maureen) Zibrowski of Caledonia; a sister-in-law, Sharon Zibrowski, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Janet, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Steve Sanders; five brothers, Harold (Phylis), Henry, Ronald, Wilfred and Norman Zibrowski; a sister, Mae (Gene) Odette; sister-in-law, Rose Zibrowski and a brother-in-law, Gene Yanzer.
