Leroy H. Ready

LeRoy H. Ready, 90, La Crescent, MN passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at Mayo Health Systems in La Crosse, WI. LeRoy entered the Army in 1951 and served his country proudly.  He then returned home and farmed the Ready family farm.  In addition, he was employed at Heileman Brewery for thirty-eight years before retiring in 1992.  On August 16, 1971, he married the love of his life, Lois Northrup.  Together they enjoyed thirty-nine years of marriage.

LeRoy is survived by his step-son Kent (Ann) Northrup, two step-daughters, Bonnie (Dick) Scott and Mary (Duane) Kerns.  He is furthered survived by eight grandchildren; John, Kim, Bryan, Krystal, Tammie, Darren, Josh, and Brad; ten great-grandchildren Kayla, Kelsey, Elizabeth, Sean, Allison, Brandon, Braden, Leyton, Isaac and Lincoln; and two great, great granddaughters, Aria and Ayslin.  He is also survived by one sister Maryann Luedtke; three sisters-in-law, Carol, Arlene and Donna. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois and six siblings; Lawrence, Pearl, Joe, Bob George (Shorty) and Ronnie.

He will be remembered as a loving, gentle, proud and loyal man.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Crucifixion, La Crescent. Rev. John L. Evans, II will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Crucifixion Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
