Leatrice Ann Zuleger

Leatrice Ann Zuleger, 84, of Appleton, WI, and formerly of La Crosse, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.

Leatrice was born in Oshkosh, WI, on March 28, 1938, to Robert and Edna (Berzinski) Allen.  She grew up in La Crosse, attending St. James Elementary School and Aquinas High School where she graduated in 1956.  She later attended Viterbo College and La Crosse Vocational School.  On July 12, 1969, Leatrice married Marvin Zuleger at St. James the Less Catholic Church in La Crosse.

Early in her life, Leatrice worked as an administrative assistant at First Federal in La Crosse and for Prudential Insurance in Minneapolis.  After a move to Rib Mountain, WI, she worked for a brief time for Wausau Insurance Company before choosing to stay at home and raise her family.  Leatrice and Marvin had short stays residing in Utah and Michigan before settling in Appleton with their family in 1990.

Leatrice was a long-time member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Appleton.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin, of Appleton; two sons, Nicholas Zuleger and his wife, Elizabeth Jones of Bloomington, MN, and James Zuleger and his wife, Laura, of Sun Prairie, WI; two grandchildren, Hope Zuleger and Alexander Zuleger; one brother, Russell Allen and his wife, Rosie, of La Crosse; and several nieces and nephews.  Leatrice was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Grant Allen; and a sister, Roberta Dickson, and her husband, Richard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 6 ^th , at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., in La Crosse, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Deacon Jason Hutzler will officiate.  Entombment will take place in St. Joseph Mausoleum in La Crosse at a later date.
