Lavonne (Heyer) Cairns

LaVonne D. (Heyer) Cairns, 87, of rural Dakota, Minn., died on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at the Gundersen Health System of La Crosse.

LaVonne was born in Winona on July 4, 1930, to Melvin and Amanda (Papenfuss) Feller. She married Rodney Heyer on May 29, 1948. She was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

LaVonne is survived by six children, Rhonda Johnson, Connie (Steve) Shogren, Curt (Karen) Heyer, Judy (Greg) Dobrunz, Rojean (Rick) LaSeure, and Jerris (Donna) Heyer; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; a brother, Pat (Marge) Feller; a sister, Lois Feller; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and seven siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 20 th , at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Nodine. Pastor Dennis Harbach will officiate. Burial will follow in Hiler Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crescent and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Thursday at the church.
